If I were you, I'd give it some time and see if there's a way (other than his facebook messages) to prove what he's doing. It's not going to go over well that you were reading his messages, even if it did prove he was doing something behind your back. What I don't understand is why can't you befriend his friend? If y'all hung out together as a group from time to time, it might make you comfortable enough to relieve him from having to choose between being there for his friend and keeping you happy. Just a suggestion. Really, if you trust him, I wouldn't worry about a few rides, even though he didn't tell you about them. It's most likely he didn't tell you because he knew there was nothing for you to be concerned about, but he didn't want to make you mad over it.
If you say you trust him, then you should of never looked at his messages. IF you really trust him, then you should know in your heart say, he would turn down any of her advances if she made them. Be an honest person and tell him you looked at his messages and wondering why he doesn't always mention it. Maybe he's trying to stop from having an argument. If one's bf/gf/husnad/wife cheats, you have to know it's only them to blame, not the other person.
it's wrong because he isn't being truthful with you.He might just not be telling you because he knows you requested them not be alone, Or, I'm sure it's possible he could be cheating on you with her. Either way it's wrong and will cause you to have trust issues. Also, after 4 years, I think you have a right to request of him not to be alone with this friend. Particularly if you two are thinking of getting married. You need to figure out a way to bring it up without letting him know you looked at his phone behind his back, otherwise that will deflect away from the fact that he lied to you.
