Question:

Clifford alarm system?

Just bought a used car with a Clifford alarm system already installed. But every time I drive around I need to unlock my doors with the remote before I open the door so my alarm doesn't go off. Also, when i'm just on battery I cant use my radio, wipers, lights or start my car without unlocking the car first with the remote.. If I don't. the damn alarm goes off. Help please.

Answer:

Yes you can do this on a manual door lock . You will need to make the manual door lock AUTO . This is done by adding an actuator to the rod mechanism behind the door panel.
The door jamb switch is self adjusting. Open your door and find the spring loaded switch. The with a small screw driver pry the center of the switch out - you should see a little notch to stick you screwdriver in. Be careful because it can pop right out. then close you door softly but all the way to re set the switch. If this does not work you will have to replace the switch. This happens mostly when you slam you seat belt buckle in the door between the door and the switch.
it may not have a heat detector, but it may have a carbon monoxide detector, are your appliances gas, and if they are are they venting properly outside?
