After much research I have decided I will go with cloth with this baby (due 6-3-08). I am a stay at home mom, so I have the time- geez maybe it will give me something to do and make me less bored! Anyway, I have decided, due to money issues, to go with pre-folds with a diaper cover. I know the all-in-ones are easier, but the start up cost is just to much (I stay at home, have to cut costs somewhere!) I have pretty much decided on prowrap covers as they seem like a good product for the money, but I would like to hear if any of you have other suggestions on wraps. Breastfeeding moms, you know what breastmilk poo is like, so keep that in mind for me. Also, what brand of pre-folds worked for you? Thanks for your suggestions.
I dont use cloth diapers so I can't help you out there. But Breastfed babies poop is yellow and runny. SO anything that will stop it from going out the sides would be my suggestion.
I used prefolds both Indian and Chinese they both seemed to work the same for me. If I could do it over again I probably would have used those disposable liners. But the cloth liners I used still worked fine and only had blowouts when I had been the one to shift the diaper in the wrong direction during a change. I also used bummis super whisper wraps. I didn't really like the pro wrap in comparison but that's just me.
I used unbleached cotton, and diaper service quality prefolds for my kids. I will warn you that ANY prefolds you find in a department, or discount store (like Walmart or Target etc.) SUCK. They have polyester cores and are not very absorbant. Prowraps are good. i like Bummis Super Whisper Wraps too. Do you, or anyone you know sew? Diapers are fun and easy to make. Fern and Fairie has some great ideas on the subject.
