I have had this Code Alarm CA1551 car alarm installed on my 1995 Acura Integra for about a year now. This morning, the battery notification on the LCD remote started flashing so I changed the battery to a brand new one. I press the ARM/LOCK button and nothing happens. I press the DISARM/UNLOCK button and nothing happens. The buttons do work and the display on the LCD is perfect so I know nothing is broken. It just seems like the remote un-programmed itself. The owners manual it came with is no help at all and I can‘t find anything on the net.Just wondering if anyone has had this problem and can help me resolve it. I‘d rather not deal with having to call the manufacturer and I really rather not have to go back to the douche-bags who installed the alarm. Help anyone?
some alarms have a reset button right on the unit itself that is most of the time up under your dash on the drivers side,it needs to be reset it don't sense your remote any more, if its a good alarm it could be telling you the car battery is weak.just a guess.don't you have a second remote try that one and it might not sense that one either, then you know for sure it needs to be reset.the people that installed it will reset it for free takes a second when you know were the button is. have him show you.remote starters do the same thing.
