Silica is widely used, mainly used in making glass, water glass, pottery, ceramic, refractory material, aerogel blanket, ferrosilicon, silicon sand, cement, etc., in ancient times, silica is used to make the glaze porcelain and carcass. Ordinary stones consist mainly of silica and calcium carbonate.
There are two kinds of crystalline silica and amorphous silica in nature.
Silica, chemistry, pure silica is colorless, is solid at normal temperature, chemical formula SiO, insoluble in water. Insoluble in acids but soluble in hydrofluoric acid and hot concentrated phosphoric acid, used in combination with molten bases.
