Question:

Copper IUDS? Any feedback of likes/dislikes about it???

Im trying to get off of hormonal based birth control methods and was thinking about using a copper iud... anyone has anything negative feedback?? Or loves it?

Answer:

I felt multiple cramping for a pair weeks, specifically situations rather extreme and whilst we could have intercourse my husband would desire to sense the strings. I went and had it taken out and had to pass on antibiotics purely incase I had an infection. i in my view love the assumption of the IUD and that i'm rather bummed it didnt paintings for me. i'm going to attempt the Mirena and notice if I even have greater advantageous success.
Hi! I know what you are feeling, I went through that last year! I had to get off the pill, and I wanted to have a more natural method. So my sister, who is almost a doctor, told me about the IUD. She recommended the Miera (with hormons) but I didn't like the idea of takin (agin) hormones, so I chose the Nova-T, a copper IUD. Also, I went on different forums on the internet, and I discovered that the Mirena deosn't really suit lots of women (big weight gain, bloating, etc.) But I also discovered that women with either IUD sometimes had pregnancies, but it's like 1/10 of a 100 per year, so it's really not that much. You also have to know that the IUD is suitable for someone who is in a stable relation (because having STDs increases the risk of pelvic inflammation). I have not been pregnant yet, but it doesn't matter, it's reversible. So, since november, I have a copper IUD. The insertion went really well (I suggest taking 4 advils before, if the doctor doesn't give you a pain pill). It really doesn't hurt much more than a regular checkup, with the speculum. When they insert the IUD, it's flat like a stick, the branches deploy only when the doctor takes out the stick. My period doesn't last longer than before I was on the pill, 5 days (although the copper IUD is supposed to make them 102 days longer). Also, it doesn't hurt more and I don't have more menstrual flow (unlike some women, apparently). It doesn't bother my boyfriend, he feels nothing of the IUD. I have lost the water rentention I had with the pill, so that's good, and I don't have to think about taking a pill everyday... In fact, I am very happy with my choice. If you don't want to use hormones, you could also use a diaphragm with spermicide, or the condom, but they kind of break the spontaneity... I suggest you to try the IUD, and if you don't like it, you can always get it removed...
