it won't hurt anything. if you want to clean it use. i can't think of the name now. i will about 2 o'clock am. it L R C i think. it is in a grey plastic container. sorry i cant think of the name.
The green color is merely oxidation and the only affect is the visual one. No need to remove it.
This usually occurs where joints were soldered and are caused by not wiping off the flux when finished. You can remove it if you wish but not necessary. Try a wet rag and if that doesn't work, you may need some emery cloth.
