Question:

Copper sink a good choice for new kitchen remodel?

We are remodeling our ranch style home and not sure if putting a farm style copper sink is a good choice with stainless appliances or a good choice at all regardless? It would be a patina copper having kind of that old black brushed over copper look to it, NOT bright polished copper. Do these sinks require lots of maintenance, do they stain easy? I really don't want to have a standard ivory / white sink. Any thoughts or recommendations would be very much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Answer:

I believe that Copper Sinks can make your kitchen beautiful. I just love the Maxican sinks. I think it was a very good choice for new kitchen remodel.
I think copper goes great with stainless steel. Many kitchens designs go overboard on the matching of colors and textures. Variety can be quote refreshing!
We had a copper sink back in the 80s . The biggest draw-back was the copper reacting to acids and staining. We could always clean it, but ours was bright copper, and we could polish the entire sink. You have a patina, which might be hard to restore.
Ooow hard choice. You want a ranch look but you have stainless appliances. Copper is alto of work where stainless is more forgiving. I would find a company that have different models set up so you could see the different styles of sinks with spending money first.. Lowes , Home Dep, On-line try kitchen remodeling and see what web site pop up. Maybe one will give you an idea..
