I'm about to buy a RE SX 15 subwoofer (1000 watts RMS)I know one is better, but I've forgotten which. The one I'm trying to buy has a 4 layer copper voice coilIs that better than aluminum? Thanks
Aluminum is greater suitable than copper. It takes greater aluminum to make something good as metallic. in spite of if copper conducts electricty ans alerts better than aluminum. all and sundry is switching to aluminum reason its greater low priced.
Copper conducts electricity better than aluminum. Aluminum conducts heat well which is why heat sinks are generally aluminum. That said, why spend the money? What GOOD does it DO to have such a overpowered system? You can't possibly USE all that power without damaging your ears FOREVER! Just ask the idiots who stood next to the stack speakers from the Fillmore in San Francisco about THEIR hearing loss! And as they say, forever is a LONG time...
um.. copper alum.. for long h/power blast.. as it'll shed the heat faster.. copper last longer,, and uses the magnet better
