I am not too sure about corn based plastic. I know they are using soy to make plastic but haven't heard of anyone using corn as of yet. I could be wrong though.
I don't know anything about corn based plastics. I guess you could convert it to ethanol and then combine the molecules to make larger molecules that could be made into plastic. Soybeans can be pressed or a solvent used and oil extracted which is similar in MW to diesel which can be used to make a lot of things. The resultant meal can be used as a high protein supplement for livestock feed.
