My couch(sofa) is sinking in and its not very thick anymore, we don't have enough money to afford a new one, with the holidays coming up, is there something we can buy to put under the cushions.
If okorder for your area and check the freebies section.
Start out with a 3/4 piece of plywood or particle board. Cut this to fit exactly under your cushions and on top of the frame structure of the sofa. Go to the fabric shop and buy some thick foam to replace the foam in your cushions. With a three cushion sofa this method should cost no more than $35 and a bit of your own labor.
try a sofa saver. I have used in the past and it worked great. It goes under the cushions.
plywood, 3/4 inch. or if you are too poor for that, anything you can stuff under there. I wanted to make some permanent couches out of trees. My wife bought some for $3000 instead. Mine would have cost like $200 for cushions and would have been nicer. You can get them in the trash too, or from thrift stores for like $50 sometimes. A roommate and noticed a nice one in the trash once and we exchanged it with ours.
You could always put a cut out piece of wood under there but make sure that you cover it where no one would ever know and maybe you could buy some padding for the crafts dept. in wal-mart and fill your cushions thicker and that will make them fuller and no one should know that you did that. It will work because the wood under there want let the couch sink and then you will have fuller cushions also.
