Cross Country ski swix paste?

I put base coat of Swix Polar, (then put some aluminium foil over my iron) worked that base coat, then added one coat of blue v30 Swix then two coats of Violet Special v45 Swix wax I don't understand the snow here in verrmont stuck to my skis why did this happen? The temp here was 34 degrees and snowing wet snowI mean how many coats of wax does it take i tryed to find info about this subject anyone that can help me please?
