I bought a wiring harness before i got my deck installed by my friends. They told me to buy one and they never even used it. I thought you had to have one for an aftermarket stereo. Could this be why my music is not so loud?
They make the installation easier, sometime they are not required, but some people can do the install without them. It would have made it easier for your friend when he put the stereo in, it would also make it a cleaner install if he did use it. And the harness would not be the reason for your music not being soo loud
In other words, your friend cut the end off of the harness, that was not the best of choices to make. That would have nothing to do with why the music is not very loud. What stereo do you have in your car?
