Did i ruin my copper pipe and need to replace it?
Looks fine,if it's not leaking now it should be ok.
Shouldn't ruin it, but when you replace the spout do not tighten down the set screws as tight as you can get them.
there is an o-ring that keeps the spout from leaking, also there is a set screw on bottom of spout that can be loosened to remove old one
