i just had my first child hes 2 months old. and i am 18 years old. my mom had 2 copper IUD‘s and she loved it. i want this because i dont respond well to hormones (had the depo shot, and took the pill ocella) and the copper iud doesnt have hormones. and i really dont want to have another child for 2 or 3 more years uld you please share your experiences with the copper iud, not the mirena iud. thanks:)
I had mine inserted a week or so before turning 18, I've never been pregnant, and things have been going rather swimmingly. Insertion wasn't any worse than bad menstrual cramps, and it only lasts a couple minutes. I spotted and cramped lightly for maybe 5 days afterward. The only issue I encountered was string-related (my boyfriend could feel them from time to time), which was easily remedied at my 6-week check-up (we trimmed the strings to about an inch in length, so they curl behind my cervix now). Since I'm still in the 3-6 month range with it, my periods are still sort of brutal (for 2-3 days out of the 4-6), but they're actually shorter, and they're not any worse than they were pre-HBC (which accounts for my first 2-3 years of menstruation, so I'm entirely savvy to how to deal with it). All in all, entirely worth it, and I highly recommend them; it's effortless, you can't feel it, and it's approximately 99.4% effective at all times when properly placed. Pretty fantastic, and I won't use any other form of contraception again if I can help it (grudgingly barring condoms, of course, in the event that my current relationship ends at some point).
No problems and no pregnancy. You can't get better than that. Maybe slightly heavier periods, but shorter. Maybe slightly more cramping early on. Always watch for effects though. I do know one person who had a reaction to the IUD. She had joint pains and swelling that went away after taking it out.
i've got had a Mirena IUD for six years. After 15 years on the pill, i could no longer take the hormones anymore. The hormones in the Mirena have not been bothersome in any respect. I chosen the Mirena over the copper IUD because of the fact the copper IUD often will advance the bleeding and cramping while the Mirena IUD decreases it. The insertion harm (besides because of the fact the removal and re-insertion as this is robust for 5 years so I had mine replaced final year). My classes have been erratic for the 1st 4 or 5 months, yet have been heavenly short because of the fact then. i'm a childfree woman in my 30s. The scientific expert did no longer question my determination for the IUD in any respect even with my by no ability having (and probable by no ability desiring to have) toddlers. good success looking the alternative this is suited for you.
My husband did the same thing. Over filled the tranny fluid. The gears started to slip, and it was highly recommended to us to remove some of the tranny fluid.
