I just got braces yesterday, and I got the clear ones on the top. Not the kind you cannot see, but the ones with the clear brackets. I hear that drinking certain things discolors the braces (like coffee, tea, and soda). Does diet soda do this too?I drink a lot of diet soda, and I am not really confident that I can kick the habit.
Well when I had braces I had those type and it was okay most of the time, I drank a lot of juice and sometimes pop they never got really yellow so it should be fine just brush your teeth after.
Yes it dose and it is also VERY bad to drink any thing that is carbonated because it literally eats away the braces. im not sure what part of the braces but it dose eat them away and it will also rot your teeth.
im guessing it would do the same but it depends on how much you drink of it also but the coffee and tea will stain your brackets alot faster then diet and reg. soda

DONT EAT OR DRINK: curry, coffee, coke,tea, sauce Soft drinks like soda are ok, the only problem is the acid and sugar can cause permanant marks on your teeth and will apear when your braces are removed so i suggest you brush your teeth right after and you will be fine and also use a straw to drink it if your out.
OK, first of all: the brackets CAN'T be stained, it's the elastics that stain. i have clear brackets, and i found that you can eat anything, as long as you brush your elastics with mouthwash immediately after eating it: it doesn;t stain as much. the ligatures (elastics) get changed every month or so, so don;t worry: ask for a wire power chain if you can. then you have nothing to worry about!
