Question:

Difference between fog lights and driving lights?

need some lights for my front bumper on my jeep because the headlights dont put off enough light. i offroad alot, so what is the difference between fog lights and driving lights???

Answer:

Fog lights have a wide, flat beam that should be aimed to shine close to the ground and under the fog to illuminate the road surface in front of your vehicle. They should be used only with low beam headlights. Driving lights are kind of like an additional high beam headlight that throws a fairly narrow beam of light further down the road. Driving lights should be wired to come on only with your high beam headlights. If you want lights to use off-road at night, you should go for roof mounted off-road lights.
Fog lights emit a different frequency of light. This allows better visibility in fog. The newer Xenon headlights emit a frequency of light appropriate for both clear weather and fog, hence when vehicles have Xenon lights, the manufacturer doesn't need to install fog lights, but may rather give Daytime Driving or LED lights.
