Answer:

Hard braking and or worn out shocks cause the tire to scallop.Worn shocks allows the rear suspension to oscillate and the tire actually leaves the ground momentarily scuffing off a small amount of rubber when it reestablished contact.The same thing happens under hard braking.
Check your alignment marks on the swing-arm for your rear axle alignment,make sure that they are on the same mark. Also ,some marks like that are visible due to the crown of the road,usually they are more visible on the front tire than on the back.
