Distinction between military communications and Civil Communications
Military communications are divided into radio communications, cable communications, optical communications, mobile communications and simple signal communications. Radio communication is established rapidly and is affected by geographical conditions. It can establish communication links with troops and units in the movement, which are not clear, or are separated by the enemy or are obstructed by natural obstacles. It is widely used in ground, aviation, navigation and astronautical communications, and is the main means of communication for modern operational command (Figure 2). The radio signals are easily intercepted, detected and interfered by the enemy, and measures should be taken in terms of organization and technology when they are used. Wire communication has stable transmission performance, high communication quality and good secrecy. It is an important means of military communications, but it has long construction time, large investment, difficult maintenance, poor mobility and easy damage. Optical communications are generally divided into two types: optical fiber communication and atmospheric laser communication. Optical fiber communication has a broad prospect of development because of its large amount of information and good security.
Military communication is the information transfer carried out by the army for the purpose of conducting and communicating by means of communication or other means. It is the basic means of safeguarding the command of the army. In order to complete the military communication task, the communication system is an important component of the army command system, and is one of the elements of the army combat effectiveness. The basic requirements for military communications are rapid, accurate, confidential and uninterrupted. High technology is applied to modern war weapons, combat space is vast, highly mobile forces, combat fighter military conversion frequently, a large amount of information, transient, electronic struggles, thus increasing the difficulty of the military command of the military communication dependence and military communication tasks.
Military communications have better confidentiality, better reliability and more advanced technologies than civilian communications.
