Do lime green and grey match? Do lime green and maroon match?

Answer:

Yours is probably a lemon tree. The Key lime (Citrus aurantiifolia, Citrus aurantifolia, or Citrus x aurantiifolia (Christm.) Swingle), also known as the Mexican lime, West Indian lime or Bartender's lime, has a globose fruit, 2.5-5 cm in diameter (1-2 in), that is yellow when ripe but usually picked green. It is smaller, seedier, has a higher acidity, a stronger aroma, and a thinner rind than that of the more common Persian lime. It is valued for its unique flavor compared to other limes, with the key lime usually having a more tart and bitter flavor. It is perhaps most distinguished as an ingredient in the Key lime pie.
key limes are green and lemons are yellow.
Pictures from UC Riverside (California). Hope these help. Limes will ripen to yellow. Do the yellow ones smell like lemon or ??
How long have you ever been around those tree's ? i might say you have 2 lemon tree's. human beings have effectively grafted different forms of citrus on a single discern tree. In time in spite of the undeniable fact that, the graft reverts to the muse inventory
It could be a Bearss Lime. Bearss are larger than a Key-Lime (really a Mexican Lime) and don't have seeds. At maturity the Bearss tree is more rounded, whereas the Mexican Lime is more open. Bearss Limes become mottled yellow-green the longer they are left on the tree. I'm not sure what the black speckling is all about. It could be a mild form of superficial mold that is just in the cracks and pours of the rind. I wouldn't worry about it. If it washes off, that's probably what it is. If it doesn't wash off, take one of the fruits to your local nursery to see if it might be serious. The nursery person can probably identify the type of lime you have, too.
