We have fertilized our Southern Magnolia every year since we planted it in 2004, except this yearIt was blooming when we got it four years agoThe leaves look in great shape but it has never bloomed since we planted itLast year we planted two Jane Magnolias about an acre and a half away from the Southern MagnoliaThey were both in bloom when we planted them and they bloomed again, sparsely, in the fallBut they didn't bloom this yearTheir leaves look very healthy, thoughAlso, we can no longer find Aluminum Sulfate for the Southern Magnolia Can we use Ammonium Sulfate instead? Any advice would be very much appreciatedThanks.
Pink sauce:Spaghetti sauce mixed with heavy cream or cream cheese.Jarred alfredo or Pesto sauce.
The only way to determine if you need to fertilize is to do a soil testIf you live in the US, consult your county agentThey usually have inexpensive soil test kitsYou take a sample and mail it inThey send you the results and can also go over the results with youThe lack of blooming may be in response to an imbalance of nutrients, that is why it is important to know what is in your soil before you add fertilizersAluminum sulfate is used to adjust the pHFind out what your soil pH is and take the advice from the soil test as to what is needed to adjust it to the preference of the magnolias
vodka sauce is goodIt's kind of like alfredo but it's orange colored and creamy and tastes great.
