do you like lime juice or Jesus?
Mojo Lime is one of the primary brands of Liquid Lime. Liquid Lime can be very thick and also settle in the bottom of the container. This can cause a number of problems when mixing and spraying. Mojo Lime uses a smaller particle size in their Liquid Lime suspension allowing for better mixing and spraying. I don’t know if the actual performance (plant growth, pH adjustment, etc) is better.
Yes, there is a difference. Liquid lime is preferred over dry lime for it’s superior handling (no dust) and results. Results are superior using liquid lime because a more even and thorough application is achieved. This is important because the calcium carbonate (the effective neutralizing ingredient in limestone) needs to come in contact with and neutralize as much hydrogen (pH - potential hydrogen) in the soil as possible. Better coverage means more hydrogen neutralized or eliminated resulting in a raised pH. Mojo lime is different because they use what is called a micro-sized suspension. Liquid lime is difficult to make because it consists of insoluble limestone particles. Limestone does not suspend very well in water. Mojo’s micro-sized suspension uses a very small limestone particle (less than 5 microns) in combination with private suspension agents. This enables Mojo to be used in sprayers and hydro-seeders that can’t spray traditional liquid lime formulas. Mojo can also be used with limited agitation due to the suspension. Smaller particle sizes also mean better coverage and more contact with hydrogen – better results. By the way, those videos posted by 'Custom Baler' are awesome
I’ve used Liquid Lime. It goes to work much faster than Ag Lime. Ag Lime (dry limestone powder) is also a mess, it blows everywhere. It’s also dangerous to inhale. Liquid Lime is easier to handle.
