.helping seal a leakage at an automatic transmission on a 87 Mercedes Turbodiesel.Need to travel 600 mis. to my buddy‘s garage.
Substances that is on the market to supposely help maintain a transmission will actually do harm than good because of the solvents contain in most additives--which can damage internal parts in a transmission. So, I wouldn't recommend in buying any.
There's really no true cure in a bottle for any leak, but you might try Lucas Transmission additive to help slow it down. Be aware that if your transmission is full, you will have to drain or evacuate some of the fluid out to add the additive. Lucas can be purchased at AutoZone.
It's all going to depend on how severe the leak is.I know people have their own preferences.but if the leak is slight.then I would recommend Lucas transmission fix. Additive products of any brand are only effective to a certain point anyway.so that's why it all depends on how severe the leak isso.whatever you decide to usejust don't be in a hurry to get wherever you're going so that wayit won't add any extra fluid pressure to the transmission.
