Does anyone know if Great Stuff spray foam insulation is ok to put around copper heating pipes?
No. The chemicals that are in it will evenly corroded the copper pipes.

not a problem, however, you will lose access to these pipes. If anything needs to be done, you do develop a leak somewhere, you will have to chip and scrape until all of the insulation is off in order to make the repair (if a plumber does it it will definitely not be cheap). Stick with the standard pipe wrap (highest R-value you can find) and avoid making any costly mistakes. Side note: Great Stuff Yellow Can expands greatly (open cell foam). Great Stuff blue can expands a little (closed cell foam)
If you spray only enough foam so that when it has finished expanding it fill the small gap in the wallboard or baseboard molding, then there is no problem. On the other hand, if you were to pump a half can or more into the wall cavity it is possible that in expanding it could crack your drywall or plaster. As far as the foam creating any hazardous condition, I don't believe so.
