i happened to be on the same airplane with him the other day. wasnt he big about the same time that the crusher was around? btw...poor fella is in a wheelchair...but still wears a red white and blue bandana, and hands out signed autographs to anyone interested :)
shiek was around with piper, hogan, junk yard dog, jake roberts, rick martel, ricky steamboat.. the lists goes on and on when they were on top of the world and on their prime so he is realy old school
Yeah I remember him from the mid to late 70's
The Iron Sheik , made his fame during the Iran hostage crisis. He was depicted as the evil Iranian fighting the ex American military hero Sgt. Slaughter. Americans were kept as hostages for 444 days. He use to wave an Iranian flag in the ring to irritate the fans. I'm sure America was very good to him.
Yeah he was a big wrestler a while ago. He was famous at the height of like Hulk Hogan's wrestling career. He was with all those guys. But I think he came into wrestling a little after like Andre the Giant. But I am not 100% sure about that. Yeah he was a great wrestler. Well I am a teenager, and so I didnt see him wrestle, but I have seen clips of him and he seemed good.
Yup - I remember him. A brawler type wrestler with the camel-clutch submission hold. I'm not sure which crusher you're referring to - since that was a popular name during the old-time wrestling days. But yes, he was definately old school Well... at least he's still around hasn't kicked the bucket yet. Good for him. And nice that you recognized him - did you thank him for those years of entertainment? Show him you're an appreciative fan?
