Question:

does insulation make a good water filter?

i have to do a project for science and it‘s making a water filter. someone that did it last year told me that insulation makes a good filter. We have to have it clear and its about 250ml that it needs to filter. does it soak water up before letting it through? plz hurry and answer.

Answer:

You'd be much better of with a cloth, like bubble bags (Bags used to obtain herbal extract). It's basically a very, very fine piece of nylon cloth, so go buy a nice piece of nylon. Method is a little alternative, but if you aren't allowed to use an actual filter this is where I'd go :)
It could help, but would not be used in real life because fiber glass splinters are not good to have in your water. A cloth is one size filter. polyester filling for pillows works well and does not give off anything into the water.
