IMO we don't need NATO. Let the damn Europeans fight there own wars for a change without dragging the USA into things.

IMO you know nothing about geopolitics. Turkey is arguably the most useful country in NATO- they were vital in the Cold War as a site for missiles against the Soviet Union and they effectively let us draw a line in he sand at the Black Sea. They control the BOSPHORUS which is Russia's main method of moving ships into the Mediterranean and around warm water ports, so is sh.it heats up in Syria and we decide we need to move against them, Turkish cooperation is a key component to keeping Russian naval resources out of it. They've also loyally served with us in both Afghanistan and Iraq- despite the fact that Iraq is their neighbor, and since they share a border with Iran they would be vital if we were ever involved in military conflict there. Oh and also, just a point of clarification- its a secular republic. The only thing the religion of its people does is lend credibility to our otherwise painfully Eurocentric alliance.
