Replacing all smoke detectors as they are well over 10 years old. Most are hard wired and ceiling mounted but a few are battery wall mounted. The new wall mounted one's mounting ring shows signage For Wall Mount with arrows showing which end should go up. Does it need to be placed perfectly upright on wall for it to work properly. Existing mounting holes place it about 60? off. I can change it but won't if it is not critical.

Get your computer to dial out to your cellphone at a set time and then play a message 'Wake UP!' when you answer it.
Go to bed earlier. or, set the alarm on your cell phone and then set your phone to vibrate. Put it under your pillow or something to that effect and it will wake you with the vibrations.
There Also, another idea is use your cell phone, put it on alarm clock and set to vibrate and sound but put it either under your pillow or in a pocket. Just something to try.
