Question:

Does using a clutch basket with ridges worn into it affect the clutch plates on a Honda cr250 motocross dbike?

We just bought a 1994 Honda cr250 motocross bike with the clutch basket/plates outThe guy we bought it from gave us a brand new set of plates in the package, but the basket was the originalWhen we looked at putting the clutch basket/plates back in, we realized that the basket had had grooves worn into itI'm not sure if this will cause the brand new plates to brake, or if we should just purchase a new basket.

Answer:

The ratio is basically how fast the flyer is spinng compared to how fast the wheel is being turnedIf you are spinning bulky yarn, you are going to want a lower ratio(The flyer spins slower and twists that yarn less, giving you time to work the fiber.) If you are spinning a fine yarn, you want a larger ratio(the flyer spins faster and twists the yarn more keeping the fiber together as you work it.) I hope this helps!
Stock aluminum baskets will do thatIt needs to be replacedYou can either get stock and it will do it again over time or you can get an upgraded basket from hinson racingPretty much everyone that races upgrades to a hinson or something similar
