The floors in my house look like dark wooden planks and at each end are 2 sets of nails (the way they are supose to look). The head of the nails are about the size of maybe a dime and have the sides sanded so there are no rough edges. Can someone tell me what the name of this flooring is?
if the woob butts up against the carpet pull the capet back. look at the side of the hardwood. if it's 3/4 thick then it's standard 3/4 tongue and groove flooring. If it's approx. 1/4 thick it's more than likely a pergo style flooring

Whichever wood floor you choose, you install it using one of these methods: Nail down — attached to a wood subfloor with flooring nails.
