im curious about removing a engine/ jacking a engine up by the oil panFirst thing is can you theortically with a high jack, jack the whole front end up of the car, remove the valve cover maybe the cylinder head, and remove the engine from the bottom? just place it down on a dolly and wheel it away then install a new piston head, and of course remove the two motor mounts and transmission mount holding the whole thing inI believe my transmission just floats with a mount no cross members stop it from just dropping if the mounts weren't there and if it wasn't connected to the engineAlso I see videos of people jacking the oil pan up on the engine to remove motor mounts for much need space on these small engine bays, is that safe? Maybe put a block of wood under the pan and just jacking it up can it damage the pan if its a aluminum? say a 2.4L 4 cylinder pan.

You didn't bother to identify your car, but from the small engine I assume it's a front wheel drive carMostly, those engines drop out the bottom on the engine subframeRear wheel drive engines generally are lifted outUse wood under the oil pan if its a steel panSome cars have aluminum pans or maybe plasticDon't jack on them! If you're removing a front wheel drive engine only, leaving the trans in the car, I would pull that engine out the top with a hoist (cherry picker) and leave the subframe in place so the trans can sit on itThat way you can leave your half shafts in and front drive and steering assembled.
