Question:

Environmental Science advertisement for Hydrogen Fuel Cells HELP!?

I have to make an advertisement for Hydrogen Fuel Cells and I have no ideas. The hard part? I cant actually mention Fuel Cells in the advertisement because the class has to guess what its about. Also, it has to be directed towards a certain demographic. Mine is social butterfly. She wants to know where the next party is and buys things in quantity and for convenience. :) Pleassee help me.

Answer:

When Sandia Labs investigated more efficient ways to produce hydrogen from H2O, they found one but they also realized it could produce CO from CO2. A mixture of CO and H2 is called syngas because you can synthesize any linear hydrocarbon you want out of it including ideal replacements forgasoline and diesel. Basically you don't have to change a single car to realize the environmental benefits of hydrogen. What fuel cells brings to the table is that they are 95% efficient as opposed to the 30% of gasoline engines and 60% of diesel engines. However a hydrogen fuel cell requires absolutely pure hydrogen and pure oxygen. The holy grail of fuel cell research is to find materials so that hydrocarbons and normal air could be used. You can easily greenwash people by saying the only exhaust is water vapour, perhaps use the line Her fragrance is Eau de l'eau. But the truth is that hydrogen fuel cells is just to drive up demand for new cars thereby growing the economy, making jobs and making a profit. It certainly isn't about saving the environment. Indeed, the short term result of both hydrogen fuel cells and EV's is an increase in environmental damage. Hydrogen and EV's are the wrong end of the energy pipe, they just affect how we chemically store energy. We need to change where we're getting the energy not how it is stored, we already know how to use any form of energy to change CO2 and H2O back into hydrocarbon fuel and oxygen.
Demographic. Mine is social butterfly. She wants to know where the next party is and buys things in quantity and for convenience.'' That is not fair. A social butterfly doesn't want to know how a car works let alone some rare engineering. She could care less as her world is guys and looking at her. If she is hairy maybe she would like car mechanics. But then she would not be a butterfly either. I would be hard pressed to guess the chemistry of hydrogen fuel electrical generating. If it was a good idea Obama would say the words. Jessee this is totally unreal. Maybe I need to read about this stuff. Maybe I should add you cus my interest is up. . . . . . There were reports that previous generation fuel-cell cars from Honda cost more than $1 million to build in 2005. Some estimated that Honda had cut its production costs to between $120,000 and $140,000 per .(2008 To store the fuel extracted from natural gas; The 350 Bar (5000 PSI) hydrogen tanks for hydrogen storage contain enough fuel for a 248 miles (399 km) drive.[3] Using 700 Bar (10000 PSI) tanks the range is extended 70% to 421 miles (678 km).[4]. . . Storage tanks rated at 5000 pounds per square inch pressure are for rockets eh. Your water pressure at home is less than 100 psi.
By social butterfly do you means someone who is VERY social and easygoing, popular; and generally a female? In that case you need to make it seem popular, use cute pictures, make it seem environmentally releasable. Show water dripping in the background, in light blue letters spell out pure water is their life. Show some cute animals, a polar bear cub, a white seal etc. Under the animals, where your exhaust is their life Hopefully that will give you an idea to work with.
