ever heard of putting a piece of copper pipe in the toilet tank to prevent hard water stains ?

Answer:

Try the new toilet bowl cleaner with teflon. I did, and the stains didn't seem to show up as often on the bowl. (of course, maybe this is wishful thinking.) My water is hard enough that I get that funky black ring at the water line before the end of a week. I've also heard tips to drain all the water out of the bowl, dry it completely, and then apply automotive wax to the inside. I have never tried this before.
The copper pipe in the tank is a myth. The only cure for hard water stains is to add a water softener to your water system. This may not be a complete cure if you have very hard water, but it will help.It will also help the water taste better and the washing machine work better.
get an anode rod that they put in hot water heater cut it and put it in several tanks
They are good clubs- no worries on that end. Just make sure he gets fit for them. if they're too long, or too short, or the lie angles aren't right, or the shaft flex isn't right, they could hurt his game (it'd be that way for any brand of club- it's just how those things go). Maybe trick him somehow, and surprise him with a custom fitting from a pro shop or Golfsmith-type shop near you.
