Hi,Like many last winter our heating stopped when the external condensate pipe froze. I would like to lag this condensate pipe before next winter but wonder if the standard grey pipe covers as in B Q are OK for external use. Does anybody know if I should be seeking specialist external lagging for this situation? If the answer is yes, what is this insulation called; what sizes are available and where do I purchase it from. Thanks
confusing factor. look in bing and yahoo. this might help!
To stop freezing the condensate pipe 21.5mm should come out of the boiler go thought the wall. As it leaves the wall it should then fall into a waste pipe a minimum of 32mm. This then goes to the drain. There is a little plug you can buy that fits into the end of the waste pipe that allows the condensate pipe to push into. But not really necessary. The best way by far if possible is to connect into an internal waste pipe so there is no freezing problem. There should be no freezing issue with 32mm or above waste pipe.
