hi There are many reasons why people have light sensitivity, the medical name for this is photohobia, a condition where the eyes are sensitive to light, possibly causing pain, tearing and much discomfort. when light enters the eyes it caudes a chemical reactiom in the back of the eye rids and cones, which allows us to adapt ro different light and dark. The light sesitvity is the result of rods and cones not recovering efficiently. there are various reasons behind light sensitivity, and mainly common in light coloured eyes. it can also be caused by deficiency of beta corotene and lutien basically diabetic, thyroid condition, certain antibiotics, anthihistamines, blood pressure medications, it could also be caused by eye trouble. Like retinitis pigmentosa. i strongly recommend that you book an eye test to evaluate your eyes health. I have recently my self been diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, which is hererdiatary, and effects the retina in the eyes its a slow blindness and common symthoms are light sensitvity, unable to focus in the dark headaches eye pain. I have to now wear tinted prescription varifocal glasses. Im talking from expreince. Best to get your self checked out at the optician better safe than sorry. Good luck i hope this has helped you.
