Question:

Feeding wires through a plasterboard/stud wall?

I have put my flat screen tv on the wall but now all the wires are hanging down from my tv to my sky box and my xbox etc. I have drilled a hole behind my tv and a hole near the floor so that I can drop the wires through to make it more tidy. I tied the cable to a wire coat hanger to push it though but the cavity is filled with insulation and i cant push the wires through to the bottom. Also there might be joists that I haven't found yet. Does anyone know an easier way of doing this? Thanks

Answer:

Try a product called Wiremold, it covers the cable, yet looks attractive.
Try using a fish tape before you give up. The fish tape will be stiff enough push through the installation and once you have it to the other hole there is a hook on the end of it you can tie and tape the wires to and pull them with. You can buy a 50 foot fish tape for 20 bucks or so at Lowes.
You should install surface mounted wire mold to conceal the wires. It's a violation of the electrical code to run device power cords through a wall so you could not legally run any 120 volt cables that way. You could also be breaching a firewall and a sound barrier, which this may well be because it has insulation in it (this would be true if it is a shared party wall) . If it is an outside wall, you are breaching the vapor barrier and reducing the weather seal on the house, also a poor idea. Also, it's a code violation to run 120 volt cable and low voltage communication cable through the same opening in a concealed partition. The only safe option for concealing the wires in the wall would be to use proper recessed backboxes with correctly supported cable between them -- as it is done when houses are built to accomodate wall mount TV's. There has to be two separate box systems, or a divided box and separated raceways, for the line voltage and low voltage cables. My advice is patch the holes you've made and run divided wiremold with channels for the two different voltages (your building or electrical supply store will have it).
Get a wire puller and insert it between the the drywall and the insulation vapor barrier(paper or plastic). There shouldn't be any joists in the way unless you have a split level house. If there is an obstruction it is probably conduit or fire blocking. I ran into fire blocking when doing my house and had to cut open dry wall and drill a hole to feed the wires through. Then I got expandable fire blocking foam to spray around in the hole with the wires after they were pulled. Lastly put back on the drywall and tape and paint. This was a lot of work but worth it for the look of a flat panel on a a wall with no wires showing. Or you could get track to put on the wall to conceal the wires that can be painted to match wall color and almost disappears.
question: through fact Jehovah's Ws have faith feeding is the comparable as ingesting, is my conduit ingesting as quickly as I feed twine with the aid of it? A false impression. Jehovah's Witnesses have faith feeding is offering others with nourishment the place ingesting his taking in nutrition. as an occasion, Jesus steered Peter to feed his sheep. So it grow to be his turn to teach others related to the gospel and supply them nourishment. Jesus mentioned, Then feed my sheep additionally, Jehovah's Witnesses have faith that mastication is the technique of chewing nutrition which isn't a blood transfusion. it is the technique of receiving blood products into ones flow intravenously.
