ok so i live in an apt, and we took the fire alarms off the ceiling a while ago because cooking anything set them off and the other was dying and drove me nuts one night and i ripped them from the roof..not evenconnectedd just the wires..but they still go off? how is that? out of no were nothing cooking nothing going on the heat ain't on , its so weird! i wonder if there is a answer to this? if not i honestly believe i have a ghost! it sounds stupid but i was in the shower my dog usually trys to hop in and didn't she was staring at the toilet very still i went to move the curtain and the entire silver bar holding the curtain fell so i yelled for my boyfriend to come help me put it back up cause im short, and it was in the morning so he was still laying down as soon as he opened the bedroom door all the fire alarms went off!! it was such a crazy morning but it could be coincidence.

The sensor in the alarm is probably malfunctioning and giving a wrong reading and causing the alarm to go off, if you changed the battery and clean the dust out of it that's pretty much all you can do. I would replace the alarm with a new one.
