I am 18 and just about to buy a motorcycle. I would like to buy a ninja 250r but i am an experienced Mountain and road biker. ( I understand they are way different, but I do not want to spend lots of money to out grow a bike.) Is there a an in between bike you would recommend. IE. not 1000c but not 250cc. What would be a good in between bike model? Make/model/power. It would have to be a sport bike/ no crossovers.The second: what gear would you use. I know you would use a helmet, gloves, ie the basics, but what brands and stuff like that.

I usually try to avoid answering questions, if I think I may appear rude. This question is striking a chord with me, though. I just turned 62, so the 50's were pretty much my first 10 years. Was it the greatest decade ever? No. But, at the time, it was the best decade so far. Our parents did everything in their power to make a better life for their kids than what they had. And, they did a fine job. I find I must take issue with at least a few of your comments, which appear to be presented as facts. In those days, most kids who left school illiterate either dropped out or flunked out. Teachers weren't encouraged to pass kids who shouldn't pass. And, corporal punishment was not permitted in our public schools, although the parochial schools did have it. Women were not forced into the kitchen. My mother supported our family for three years when my dad was disabled from an industrial accident when I was 5 days old. And, she was never barefooted! Premarital sex and resulting pregnancies did occur then, but it was not romanticized on TV. It was kept secret if at all possible. And, while equal pay for equal work has improved over the years, the Equal Rights Amendment did not pass. Even if it had passed, that was either at the end of the 60's or early in the 70's, not the 50's. I could go on and on..
I think I would have punched him at least. If he came to visit me in the hospital, I would have him come just close enough to sock him in the chin.
