Question:

First time to use a ovenWill I burn my house down?

I just bought 3 cake mixes and I want to make cupcakes but my dad thinks I'll burn the house down or somethingI'm not sure if I can use aluminum foil pans in the oven and I'm scared that its gonna make a spark and start a fireI bought Baker's Joy Non-Stick spray and I dont have any baking sheets or anythingIs there anything I should know so I don't start a fire? I'm only 14 and I've never used a oven before.I just spray the cupcake liners right?I dont have a measuring cup but I can just measure 8 tablespoons for half a cup of oil right? Is it dangerous for me to attempt to make cupcakes on my own? (I once tried to make bacon and I started a small fire.I got it out though)Should I make cupcakes with my mom? (She dosent know how to use the oven either)Can I use whipped cream as frosting? Is it bad to use a old oven? (The oven dosent have like buttons, tell the time or anything, just knobs)

Answer:

It depends on the type of yarn usedIf it's synthetic smooth yarn, regular was will suffice and you can even dry it in the dryerBUT if it is something fuzzy or animal hair (i.ewool, mohair, angora) either spot cleaning as needed or even delicate washing may help but air drying flat is what I would do.
I would use the delicate cycle to wash itAnd low heat to dry.
Yeah, the cold and delicate stuff is the bestYou could also ask your friend what yarn she/he usedThe yarn wrapper usually has care recommendations on it.
Okay, first I think you'll be fineEveryone has to start some where with baking, and cupcakes are a good place as anyYes, you can use aluminum foil pans, Ive done it and haven't done any damageIf your using a muffin or this case cupcake pan, be it aluminum or otherwiseYou can a spray the inside of the molds, or just place in the cupcake liners, no spraying is required with those8 tablespoons is a half of cup Whipped cream is a yummy frosting option :) I have an old oven, temperatures can vary on themOr it could take longer to heat upJust keep an eye on them, the time could be faster than the recipe saysThe best way to tell is to stab them with a tooth pickPlace the toothpick in dead center of the cupcake, if it comes out clean your cupcakes are doneTime is easy to keep track of using your own watch, so you don't need to worry about a timerIf your oven has a window, and a lightYou can watched them if it makes you feel betterTry not to open the oven to much, it'll lower the temp and make your cupcakes take a little longer to cookLet your cupcakes cool, before you take them out of the pan, you'll burn yourself otherwiseLet the cupcakes cool down completely before placing the whip cream on them or it melt offSince whip cream is your topping choose be sure to keep the leftovers in the fridge, or you'll loose you whip creamHave fun, I'm sure you'll be fine! Happy baking :)
I would hand wash this item with your hands and use a hand wash gentle soapAir Dry
