I'm was scrapping the old paint off when I realized that the rectangular panels are made from a different material with a wood like composition. It looks very fuzzy and parts of the scrapped panels looks uneven (scrapping off paint in some areas took off more quot;woodquot; then others). How can I fix this?
wood filler will take care of this apply sand prime and paint wood filler can be had at any building supply store from a old timer renovator
The panels are Masonite, a composite material. You might try fine sandpaper. And use a small orbital sander. ($30) I know what you mean by fuzzy. Do not continue sanding if it does not look right. You might just sand the paint or use paint remover so you do not have to sand. First try the other folks advice and ask an expert at a local store or Home Depot.
