Do gas additives do the same as premium gas?
That's the idea (at least as far as detergent for cleaning in gasoline) but not all additives are created equal. Actually, you can just use chevron/texaco with techron (even the regular) and it should work as well as an additive. I believe that's the gasoline most manufacturers use for epa testing so.and it never runs rough (even the regular), so I tend to use it a lot. Might only have to run a 1/2 a tank a month though.
Most vans like the F-a hundred and fifty are designed for the working man. They design the motor notably for ordinary gasoline to save money that would be spent on strolling the trade. They'll absolutely run worse on premium fuel. Top class fuel is much less immune to knock or ping. this is when the fuel detonates within the cylinder earlier than the spark. The essential rationale of this might be simply the ambient temperature in the engine. A high performance exercises auto will naturally run hotter than a low revving pick-up. If the air-fuel combo detonates for the duration of the compression stroke this can reason problems. Higher octane will resist detonation in greater temperature motors. The pleasant rule of thumb is to use what's advocated. Feel it or no longer, the brand has demonstrated the motor on all three grades before releasing it to the public. They want return purchasers.
Most additives are garbage. Techron is one exception but you can also get it in your gas at Chevron.
