Landlord have been repairing this boiler 4 times so far now I still hear loud noise does not sound right he told me he is not getting any new boiler does not need it supposed to last up to 35yrs. This boiler is now 16yrs. since I moved in. Is there such a thing of gas boiler blowing up Should I talk to the gas company? I feel now it is on its way out with the noise it is making loud banging, clanking noise.
Its suppose to be noisy but not to the point where it is unbearable. I would talk to your landlord and demand to have it checked by a professional if you are concerned enough because we are talking about your health on the line. Yes they can last pretty long so that's normal, mines about 32 years old now
the banging might be the circulator pump the coupler on a bell and gossit bangs when its 1/2 broken it gets loud .or if it is hammering it could be the relief valve going bad or the expansion tank bladder is ruptured and causing the relief valve to hammer.boilers do last a long time but need maintenance I have 66 boilers where I work .I'm lucky most are under 10 years old but they get a lot of maintenance on them . good luck call maintenance
My forced air organic and organic gas furnace became put in around 1965 and inspite of the undeniable fact that going stable (besides the undeniable reality that that may no longer any extra very useful). New ones in many cases have a 20 12 months burner assure yet unclear the blower, etc will very final that long (in many cases get everywhere from a million to 5 years at distinctive factors). like all distinctive poster reported, boilers very final an prolonged, long term. you may desire to anticipate 10 - 2 an prolonged time on a gas fired forced air unit.
