anyone know if it is ok to mount a boiler onto a sheet of heat retardant ply as the wall surface is very uneven
No dangers .just let him do his job !! glad i`m not coming to fix your boiler. Took me 5 yrs apprentiship to learn my trade and you expect us to explain this on Answers in 1 easy sentance. I wish! Full marks to PD for answer but i think you wasted a lot of time and effort, because some one who asks questions of his nature has not got a clue on how a boiler works.
you shouldn't do this your self, so ask a gas fitter
Over the years boilers wear out and once they wear out they must be replaced. The average life of a boiler really depends on types of piping it was attached to. In the Vancouver area there are many homes that were piped with Poly-b piping. This piping is the main cause of premature failure of boilers installed in those homes. Luckily Poly-b piping was banned and therefore many newer homes, 15years and younger are poly-b free. When choosing which boiler to use, it is very important to know the application you are using the boiler, the size of boiler needed and the type of piping the boiler will be connecting too.
