Geometry...... HELP!?

The top of a grain silo is half of a sphere. If you wanted to paint the sides and the roof how much surface would you have to cover? Radius=13 and Height=15 (Measurements are in ft. Round your answer to the nearest 1 ft squared.)


The surface area of a hemisphere is given by S1 = 2π r? The surface area of the lateral area of a cylinder (that's what the straight part of the silo is, right?) is given by S2 = 2π rh If r and h are measured in feet, then the total area S (in square feet) is S = S1 + S2 = 2π (13)? + 2π(13)(15) ≈ 2287 ft?
