I'm looking for a motorcycle tail light for a motorized bike I'm trying to make street legal. Does anyone know where I can find a good LED 12 volt tail light/brake light that is DOT approved and not to expencive?I'm planing on fitting it to a bracket on my rear rack that is originally for a bicycle reflector so I want a flat square shaped tail light that's 3 to 4 inches wide. I can work with bigger if I have to but 5 inches is as big as I'd be willing to go so it's not blocking the turn signals. Online it seems almost impossible to tell if a tail light is DOT approved or not unless they say which usualy they don't.
Go to a cycle shop and ask or look at eBay.
DOT is for legal to sell. For using what matters if the you get enough light. You can use motorcycle lights, car lights, trailer lights....
