Answer:

yes i agree with honeyyou should build the frame structurally, not crappily and shore it up with duct tape later but yea if you don't want to re-do the entire thing, add dome diagonal gross bracing to your existing pvc structure.
a fire alarm means theres a fire and u need to get out..
No. That plastic resin is basically an inert substance. It will have no effect on your water chemistry at least no effect that you can measure without extremely sensitive instruments. I doubt that the artificial plants or fish cave are having much, if any, effect on pH, either. Various biological processes in an aquarium tend to acidify the water (that is, to bring the pH down). Carbon dioxide reacts with water to form carbonic acid, and nitrogen compounds can react to form nitric acid. Hydrogen sulfide, if present, can oxidize to form sulfuric acid. Your pH out of the tap has a rather high pH, but apparently it doesn't have much buffering capacity. Buffering capacity is the tendency of dissolved minerals in the water (especially carbonates) to neutralize acids, preventing a drop in pH. If 6.0 is too low for the fish you are keeping, you can add buffers to your water, or make more frequent water changes (replacing the 6.0 water in the tank with some of that 8.4 tap water).
