To begin with, you need to know how much power you need and then decide from there just how much you can or will have to pay to get that money back. Find a couple companies that do this kind of work to give you some figures to work with

Different solar companies install these panels. Check your local area for a free quote. If you don't already have a solar panels for a hot water system yet, consider a thermosiphon design, then you need no electricity to produce hot water. All the other designs require some electricity.
This is highly sensitive to your geographical location, and what the roof looks like. If there isn't a large, flat area clear of shadows, it will be a hard proposition. The best thing is to contact a local solar installer for a quote. On Y!A, we can't come close without actually walking the roof. In general, few restaurants opt for solar power today. That suggests that it's not very good payback in that situation.
