rare earth magnets are the best way to hang large paper works if you can't afford a framethey look like a small battery or pill but are much stronger than a traditional magnetyou have two options for making the wall magnetic the cheapest and easiest if you are only going to hang one poster is to find nails with a large head that the magnets will stick tobring the magnets with you when you pick out the nails to make sure they will stick togetheryou should only need one magnet for each corner to hold it upjust put nails in the wall where you want the 4 corners to goif you cannot nail or screw into the wall the best option would be to pick up a thin easy to cut magnetic metal sheeti believe the one i found that was the cheapest and easiest to work with was called aluminum flashingagain test whatever you pick out with the rare earth magnets to make sure there is a strong enough bondyou can cut aluminum flashing into small squares or strips using tin snipsattach the aluminum flashing to the wall with an acid free masking tapeover time any tape may damage the paint on the wall, acid free masking tape is the best balance of strength and ease of future removal.
