Question:

Has anyone swaped out a 4.3 chevy v8(L99) to the 5.7(LT1)? If so was there any problems? Help me out?

Did the wire harness match up or did any problems occur

Answer:

i own a repair shop, and the harness is identical,on this one,, but you have to watch some of the wires may turn out to be a inch or so short, other than that there's the same hook up,,you got a job ahead of you ,i can tell you this,,but the bell housing and all of that is the same,,good luck,i hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.
the motor mounts are different and some wires may need cut down or added on to but 4.3 is almost the same block with 2 cylinders cut off
yes my uncle has swaped a 4.3 with a v8 cant remember if it was the 305 or the 350 but I'm sure those are the same anyway. and yes all hooked up just fine the only thing he told me was that the shift light was on at crousing speeds but other that that every thing was fine. o by the way the 4.3 is a v6 that's whats in my 93 gmc 4x4 with 171,100 miles those engins are supposed to be pretty good mine still starts good every time no mater what the temp is outside.
I assume your talking fuel injection with the lt1. everything will bolt up, use the computer from the donor car and make sure your fuel pump is up to it. If you go carbureted there is nothing to worry about. Other concerns are exhaust, cooling system, tranny and rearend-will they handle another 100 or more horsepower?
