Question:

have you read the string theory and what are your thoughts on it?

I am trying to understand the whole concept ..I just do not see any facts to hold up to the theory but it is an awsome theory

Answer:

$90 for a *used* car seat? No way. You can get a brand new, perfectly safe one from Walmart for around $50-60. The used one may be expired, or will be in just a few years. If you plan to have more than one baby, your best bet is to get a new car seat now so it will still be good for your next baby. I've never shopped a salvation army (there isn't one in my town), but I do buy baby stuff from thrift stores, yard sales, and consignment shops. Consignment shops tend to be a little pricier, but also have things better organized and in better condition. You said baby clothes for $50-60, but how much clothing is that? You can't mean that much for one outfit. Even for a whole garbage bag full, that sounds rather high unless it's really nice stuff. I wouldn't pay more than $2-3 dollars apiece for second hand baby clothes, except maybe a few really nice outfits if I picked them out myself. If you shop at thrift stores and yard sales, you can often get basic onsies/sleepers/play clothes for just $0.50 - $1 each. Walmart has lots of nice cute baby clothes at pretty good prices too. I walk by the clearance rack in the baby section almost every time I'm in Walmart, and when there's cute stuff in bigger sizes on sale I get it and put it away for when my kids grow into it. I often find things for $1-2 that way. For larger baby items like a swing, I'd say $20 - $40 depending on what the item is, quality, condition, etc. If it's a more upscale brand and in good condition, then maybe more but I would want to check out the item and know what it would cost new before making a decision.
Clothing is a great thing to get used, just wash it first. Baby items (like swings and strollers are ok used, just check to make sure they weren't recalled before you purchase). It is recommended by the American Pediatric Association that you NEVER buy a used car seat. You don't know what type of abuse it's taken or if it's been in an accident. Plus, car seats have expiration dates (generally five years). Hopefully that helps you. Sometimes its a good thing to put what you want on a registry if you're going to have a baby shower and then what you don't get, then start thinking about buying the stuff used then.
My son wouldn't even have clothes if it weren't for Salvation Army. LOL (Kidding) Clothes are fine, and certain things like swings and things. But car seats really should be bought new or at least got from a person you know and you know it hasn't been in an accident or is too old. My Salvation Army sells baby clothes for $1.50 to $3.50, depending on the item. Most thing run under $10.00. But the prices your friend is asking for is a little high. If you can get a new car seat for less than what your friend is selling hers for, buy the new one. A good friend with a baby older than mine gave us her old car seat. She got it new and it was guaranteed as being safe. Also, you will get a lot of things at your baby shower. And most people LOVE giving new moms baby clothes, so don't buy too much now. :)
Because magnesium oxide is so stable that the energy released in making magnesium oxide is greater than making carbon dioxide so magnesium will strip the oxygen out of carbon dioxide 2 Mg + CO2 2 MgO + C This is an exothermic reaction magnesium will burn in CO2. So using CO2 is not much better than blowing out a magnesium fire with air. WIth the fire triangle, you still have heat, fuel and oxygen so it carries on burning. SiO2 is even stabler, so magnesium can't strip oxygen from it and the sand blocks the air flow. With the fire triangle you have heat and fuel but no oxygen, so it goes out. Eventually.
I think your neighbour is trying to rip you off! I would shop for second hand clothes elsewhere. You could get brand new baby clothes for cheaper than what she wants! As for a car seat and swing etc. I would ONLY purchase those brand new as you will get a safety warranty with the items.
